With the weather heating up, more families are heading to the beach, community swimming pools or back yard pools. Swimming is a fun activity the whole family can enjoy. But with any fun activity, there is some risk.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention , drowning is the second leading cause of death for children between the ages of 1 and 14. Besides birth defects, drowning is the leading cause of death for toddlers between ages 1 and 4. Despite the grim statistics, parents and caregivers can protect their children from drowning by knowing some key water safety tips.
