National Volunteer Month is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to build stronger communities. The County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) shines a light on those who lend their time, talent and effort to make a difference in the lives of children and families involved in the child welfare system. From community and faith-based organizations to the individual citizen committed to doing good, SSA acknowledges and celebrates their achievements.

According to a recent report issued by AmeriCoprs, a federal agency that partners with organizations and dispatches volunteers to help communities nationwide, 2,498,357 volunteers in Southern California contributed 197.8 million hours of service with an estimated value of $4.7 billion in economic benefits. Want to be part of that number and get involved with opportunities to share your time and knowledge? Find your calling and start giving back today.
