The Annual Report on the Conditions of Children in Orange County studies four interdependent focus areas: good health, economic well-being, educational achievement, and safe homes and communities. Each focus area includes the most recent data for indicators to assess improving or worsening trends over 10 years.

System Improvement Plan (SIP) 2014 – 2019

The System Improvement Plan (SIP) outlines how the County of Orange Social Services Agency, Children and Family Services Division and the County of Orange Probation Department will remodel their systems to improve outcomes for children, youth and families. The SIP is developed every three years by the lead agencies in collaboration with their local community and prevention partners. Approved by the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the California Department of Social Services, the report includes specific milestones, timeframes and improvement targets. The plan is a commitment to specific, measurable improvements in prevention strategies and performance outcomes that the County will achieve within a defined timeframe. Counties, in partnership with the State, utilize quarterly data reports to track progress. The process is a continuous cycle and the County systematically attempts to improve outcomes. County of Orange Self-Assessment Report 2019-2024

The County Self Assessment Report highlights areas in which the CFS’ operations and services are doing very well and areas in which improvements are needed. Completed every five years, this assessment reflects input from over 1,000 participants including, but not limited to, former clients and youth, parents, caregivers, County employees, and members of law enforcement, schools, Juvenile Court, and Probation. CFS employees identify goals and collaborate with community partners to achieve these goals. Click on image to download report.
